Through Temperament Therapy we provide successful therapy and counseling to those facing depression, anxiety, co-dependency, various mental/behavioral disorders, sin and addictions.
Dr. Jason-Anthony Prendergast, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, is currently the Director of the University Counseling & Support Services at Florida Memorial University. Dr. Prendergast is also the President & CEO of Edify Counseling Group, former chair for the Executive Board of Directors for The Bryce Gowdy Foundation, and former Executive Board of Director Member for the Jamaican Men of Florida (JMOF). Dr. Prendergast is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor – Advanced Certified, Certified Temperament Therapist, Ordained Minister of the Gospel, and a Professional Clinical Member of the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). He holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, and an MBA in Business Leadership from Liberty University. He is also a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), a Member of the Association of Black Psychologists of South Florida Chapter (ABPsy), and a member of the Christian Mental Health Professionals of Broward (CMHPB). Dr. Prendergast was recently featured on ESPN Documentary “Long Live Seven, The Bryce Gowdy Story” and was recently honored by the Florida Panthers Hockey for his leadership, dedication, and excellence in his community regarding mental health. Dr. Prendergast is committed to providing a foundation for students at FMU, focusing on mental and emotional health while advocating for removing the mental health stigma affecting students of color. He is a father of two beautiful daughters and a handsome baby boy and loves spending time with his family while advocating for those in need.
